GtkRadiant 1.6.4 to officially support Mac & Quake2World
I’m _very_ happy to share that [GtkRadiant](http://icculus.org/gtkradiant/) will support _Quake2World_ and _Quake II_ on 3 major platforms starting in version 1.6.4, which is already in testing.

Some of the features in GtkRadiant 1.6.4 we’ve been involved with include:
* Mac OS X support. Lion and Mountain Lion users will be able to start mapping in minutes with our application bundle.[1]
* Per-user game data directory support on Windows, allowing users to save their custom Q2W content in _My Games\Quake2World\default_ where it will not interfere with the _Quake2World Updater_.
* Simplified idTech2 surface inspector inspired by the GtkRadiant 1.5 / NetRadiant inspector.
* _Quake2World_ and _Quake II_ game packs, entity definitions and project file templates.
We’ll have some more news and an updated [Creating Levels](/books/documentation/creating-levels) guide as the official release draws closer. But, in the meantime, feel free to drop by _#radiant_ on QuakeNet with any questions, and as always, join us in _#quetoo_ on Freenode for _Quake2World_ chat.
