Regarding the stdout.txt and stderr.txt nonsense that q2wmap does on Win32, I think there's a relatively standard and easy way to solve this (i.e. revert to sane console behavior):

I'll be giving this a shot in svn soon. Hopefully it'll simplify your task. And nice job, btw!
