Is this still in development? With the last update I noticed some things were missing, namely mouse acceleration.

m_accel is missed.

The bind system is also messed up.

For example the key for the right mouse button being bound from the console.

It used to be: bind mouse2 "command"

Now 'mouse2' is unrecognized. However, "mouse 2" is recognized if it is in quotes. This is inconvenient and unnecessary.

Also when clearing a bind, the standard syntax is:

bind [key] ""

However this reports what the key is bound to, instead of clearing out the key.

Hi All,

First off, let me preface this by apologizing for my newbness when it comes to installing aprq2 on a Mac - I have been using Windows forever and have been forced into using a Macbook now, which means transitioning Q2 to Mac has been an issue for me.

I've run through all instructions here (http://jdolan.dyndns.org/trac/wiki/Quake2) under compiling, and ran MAKE (which executes without error), and I now have a directory that looks like this (https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B3XY_0DVmVFuNmRrNU5rZHlFU2c)

How do I run aprq2 now?

When I try to start the game from windows 7 32 bit opens a terminal but it tells me a line:

Anyone of you could help me?, Then can not open the game, thank you very much

I started up the game and it brings up the "menu" to select servers but when i select one the "console" writing is so tiny i cant read it and its in the bottom left hand corner. i tried changing the screen size but it doesnt effect anything. I tried taking it out of fullscreen mode and that didnt help either.

Please help.

I just installed Quake 2 on my computer with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
I changed the compatibility to Windows XP SP3.
When I load the game, I do not get mouse control in-game.
The mouse still functions but outside the game.
I can only use left, right, up, and down with keyboard.
Also, I do not have full screen, I still have desktop taskbar visible.
I loaded the update q2-3.20-x86-full-ctf, but still have the same problem.

Thanks for any suggestions and help,
accipiter

Hi, I just found this game while searching around for a good quake-like FPS for GNU. So I found this and some other ones. Havent tried this yet, but I'm installing it now. Is this a multiplayer game? Are there active and competive players playing it? Do you guys want some help with 2D art or video editing? What is the goal of the project?

Thanks, K__

I'm running Fedora 16 x64. When I ran quake2world, I got this:

[bart@beast quake2world]$ bin/quake2world
bash: bin/quake2world: /lib/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory

I compiled it fine from SVN after this. Just pointing out an issue with the installer.

Hello all, happen to learning to create the server in the following way I explained:

Create a server.cfg file, e.g.:

c:\Users\you\Documents & Settings\My Documents\My Games\Quake2World\default\server.cfg

Open the file in Notepad.exe, and add the following:

sv_hostname "South American Quake2World Server"
sv_max_clients 16
sv_spawn_protection 3

Then start the command line (Start -> Run -> cmd.exe) and do:

cd c:\quake2world
quake2world +set dedicated 1 +exec server.cfg

That should work.

i did it

Had a great time playing this for the first time yesterday, grats to all who have made it happen :). I did find a couple of niggles though -

Rocket-jumping - when rj'ing you seem to go straight up, losing any forward momentum. I noticed this most doing the classic mega jump on The Edge.
