I've setup a Quake2World server and it runs fine except for HTTP downloading. I've read the documentation on it but I didn't get it done for some reason. I've seen several servers where it works, so the problem's most likely not related to my client settings.
How dost thou do it? Few of the original in-game console commands are the same, so I can't seem to set it up correctly. On the computer I was running it it ran very slow, and I could find a way to decrease the shader detail, change the resolution, and etc. Is there a list of Q2W console commands available?
I'm running Windows Vista
The path to my quake 2 world folder is:
C:\Program Files\quake2world-win32-snapshot\quake2world
I successfully downloaded the zip, extracted it to the above location, and I ran update.bat.. it seemed like everything worked and I exited when it said "press any key to continue"
Can Quake2World be used as a general purpose Quake 2 engine replacement, i.e. run the standard single-player and multiplayer game modes, or is it just for deathmatch? How does Quake2World differ from Quetoo? Is there a local/offline version of the Quake2World documentation? I didn't see one in the Windows build download.
Does this mod not yet support the ability to see your own weapon in first-person perspective? I've looked through the online documentation here but I don't see anything about enabling it.
Excellent job. I just downloaded the latest release, and the project is coming along very well! More people should definitely be playing on the server, as I see quake2world on par with Nexuiz!
