I've seen several of my textures in use, a lot of other guys work as well, that were made exclusively for Quake II Evolved and nothing else, at least not without asking permission first. I know you use Gen Arena models in screenshots and have permission for those, but nobody has sent any of us any mails or anything...?
Just asking, that’s all. You can use them; I just want to know where you got them from in the first place seeing as the download link was taken down a while back? If it’s legal, it should have a readme file in the .zip with all our contact emails and names etc on it.
Just build quake2world on a debian system.
Now when I start it I get the following error:
debianfvhbps:/usr/local/games/Quake2/bin# ./quake2world -h
Quake2World 0.1.0
couldn't exec quake2world.cfg
Console initialized.
Sound initialization..
Sound initialized 16bit 48KHz 2ch.
Video initialization..
Failed to set video mode 1024x768 fullscreen.
ERROR: Failed to set default video mode.
What can I do to fix that?
-------------
Ok, I set fullscreen to off (r_fullscreen 0 in /usr/local/games/Quake2/share/quake2world/default/quake2world.cfg) but now I get:
so, i just tried q2w, and everything is really cool and gr8, but, WHATS UP WITH THE MOVEMENT ?! :O i thought it was supposed to be a fast paced movement, not a "i-bump-into-walls-all-the-time-movement" ! i think many ppl would come from qw and cpm to q2w if the movement were more qw or cpm, you know bunnyjumping all directions and turn however you want.
but still, the movement wasnt sooo fucked up but.. sry guys. disapointment.. but everything else was just cool. i guess i will get used to the movement but really, it isnt a fast movement.
